Degree College, Sanjauli, Shimla, 1984-85; elected Department Representative Law Department, HPU, 1985-86; State President, NSUI, 1989-95; General Secretary, State Youth Congress, 1995-1998; President, State Youth Congress,1998 -2008; Councilor, Municipal Corporation, Shimla, ( twice) 1992-97&1997-2002; General Secretary, Pradesh Congress Committee, 2008-12; and President, Pradesh Congress Committee, 8th January, 2013 onwards.
